Abstract

Randomized controlled trials are uncommon in hypospadias surgery due to ethical and logistical reasons. Most publications on hypospadias are observational studies and are liable to selection or recall bias. The “Strengthening the Reporting of Observational Studies in Epidemiology” (STROBE) statement helps to improve the quality of reporting and evidence-based conclusions. This checklist includes a description of methodological items and instructions on how to use them to properly report observational studies.
