Abstract
Minor surgical procedures include both diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in gynaecologic oncology and are usually performed in day care. These are generally carried out under local anaesthesia, are associated with minimum risks and side effects. Some important procedures include colposcopy, cervical biopsy, ablative and excisional procedures of cervix, vulval biopsy, hysteroscopy, endometrial biopsy, paracentesis and insertion of chest tube drains. Management of surgical wounds will also be discussed in this chapter.
