Abstract
Pediatric fractures are usually treated non-invasively. Spontaneous correction is possible, even in cases of angulation. Correction potential decreases with age. Conservative treatment options, including cast immobilization and wedging, are outlined here with age-adapted guidelines. Fractures that have displaced outside of tolerance limits (according to age) and articular fractures with step formation or instability must be surgically reduced and fixed without crossing the physis. To avoid physeal injury during fixation, cannulated screws and elastic stable intramedullary nails are often used.
