Abstract
Carpal injuries in the pediatric population are rare and mainly found in adolescents. Radiographs and MRI are essential for diagnosis and to enable therapeutic decisions. Metacarpal fractures are diagnosed radiologically and generally treated conservatively. Rotational deviation of metacarpal and finger bones, however, should be corrected and stabilized. Finger injuries often involve the soft tissues and are frequent in the emergency departments. Cartilage injuries might be difficult to detect, and like dislocations, but must be reduced properly.
