Abstract
The food and beverage industry is composed of companies, institutions, and establishments that engage in farming, manufacturing, distribution, and the selling of food and beverages. The manufacturing phase includes the processing of raw materials, like farming outputs, meats, and dairy and the production of soft drinks, alcoholic beverages, packaged foods, and other modified foods. The companies in the food and beverage industry process raw materials into food products and then wrap, distribute, and sell them through the different distribution channels, finally reaching the end consumer. Then, the distribution phase involves transporting the finished food product into the hands of consumers which can be done through different channels like retailers and restaurants (ScienceDirect).
