Abstract
A 47-year old male presented at the Dermatology Outpatient Clinic because of a mass on the scalp with 3 years duration. There was no history of systemic disease, drug use or malignancy in the patient anamnesis. Other than the presence of the mass lesion, the dermatological examination results were normal. The decision was taken for total excision of the lesion both as a diagnostic approach and as the basic treatment. The histopathological and immunohistochemical findings observed were found to be compatible with renal cell carcinoma (RCC) metastasis. In general; long-lasting lesions can easily be considered as benign. As in our case, examination of long-term skin lesions may reveal the underlying malignancy.
