Abstract
We report a case of giant cell arteritis in an 73-year-old woman who presented with acute headache and jaw pain. The case highlights the difficulty in making a rapid diagnosis of giant cell arteritis and the efficacy of early steroid therapy in this vascular autoimmune disease that otherwise the mortality rate remains high for untreated cases.
