Abstract
The health care system is generally considered to be a mosaic with various domains. By its composite nature even though it has endured with profound innovations in areas like drug development, vaccine production, recruitment in clinical trials, and technology integration, it is further essential to strengthen in certain areas like patient-level data administration, data examination with precision, drug supply maintenance, pharmaceutical domains, and security concerns. To improve those areas Blockchain technology plays a vital role with its enhanced framework features. It can annihilate the problems that trouble the healthcare system and mould the health care by placing the patient within its core level to improve security and patient-level satisfaction. Therefore, Blockchain technology has asserted itself as an irreplaceable technology in the health care system. This chapter reviews the rationale behind the use of blockchain technology in health care, the latest applications of blockchain technology in various domains, problems resolved by using the blockchain, threats faced along with challenges in the implementation of this technology, and future perspectives.
