Abstract

This chapter reviews the indications, limitations, and interpretations of a renal artery duplex exam. It discusses how to prepare the patient and perform the ultrasound. It also evaluates the clinical utility of a renal artery duplex in the evaluation of renal artery stenosis, fibromuscular dysplasia, and kidney transplant graft patency.
