Abstract
This chapter reviews the indications, limitations, and interpretations of the transcranial Doppler. It discusses how to prepare the patient and perform the ultrasound. It also evaluates the clinical utility of a transcranial Doppler in the evaluation of plaque instability resulting in in vivo embolization among stroke patients.
