Abstract

This chapter reviews the indications, limitations, and interpretations of a pelvic venous duplex, specifically in the evaluation of venous structures in the pelvis that may cause pelvic congestion. It discusses how to prepare the patient and perform the ultrasound. It also evaluates the clinical utility of the duplex in the evaluation of renal vein compression syndrome (formerly nutcracker syndrome).
