Abstract

The ascent of the Hidden Champions has been spectacular. They look back on decades of sustained growth. Some of them have become Fortune 500 corporations and others have crossed the €5-billion threshold. Across all company sizes there has been continuous growth, leading to a tenfold increase in revenue and employment in the last quarter century. The German Hidden Champions alone have created 1.5 to 2 million new jobs in this process.
