Abstract

The opening chapter defines knowledge management (KM) using the KM Action Wheel and discusses how to understand your organization’s need for KM and how to achieve KM-oriented goals. It also provides a complete level of enterprise thinking around KM to ensure your organization has a clear and strong foundation upon which to build KM systems. The final section of the chapter details the value of KM and how to demonstrate value to an organization’s stakeholders and achieve organizational return on investment.
