Abstract
This chapter opens the third section of the book, “Running a KM Systems Project,” and describes the five project phases required to execute a successful KM implementation. These are project planning and scoping, software selection, design, implementation and testing, and rollout. Software selection is especially emphasized, and this chapter delves into the community/support, features, integration, past performance, and proofs of concept that an organization should consider when updating software. Finally, this chapter contains specialty tips that will help ease your organization into complex project planning.
