Abstract

Change takes a long time to get started but can gather momentum very quickly. We have been hearing about the threat of climate change and environmental overshoot for decades but now well-tried products and systems are readily available. Where these systems were once expensive and meant only for enthusiasts, they are now reliable money-savers for mainstream buyers.

Lead by example – this will give you experience that proponents of business-as-usual simply don’t have. There is nothing more valuable in a discussion of options than practical experience.

Ask the right questions. Make sure people in responsible positions know it is their responsibility to provide the answers.

Hold your local and federal governments to standards being achieved by leading jurisdictions.
