Abstract

Muscle and tendon healing after trauma generally progresses through a three-step process, including an inflammatory phase, a proliferative phase, and a remodeling phase. Ultrasound (US) could be a useful tool for the monitoring of this process. Moreover US power Doppler techniques are also useful in the monitoring of inflammatory and rheumatic conditions.
