This chapter is a case study of the Southern African Faith Communities’ Environmental Institute (SAFCEI)’s contributions toward sustainable development in Southern and East Africa. It is a story of an interfaith organisation that was born out of an interfaith conference on environment that was hosted in South Africa in 2005. The chapter highlights the unique contributions of SAFCEI towards the protection of the environment and the wellbeing of societies in the region. The chapter acknowledges the fearless nature of SAFCEI in confronting the structural evil that has harmed the environment. The chapter has discussed the initiatives of the organisation and how these have impacted on the faith leaders and their communities. The chapter concludes that organisations such as SAFCEI are key towards the attainment of 2030 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), especially development goals such as SDG 10 on reducing inequality within and among nations.
