Abstract

Lumbar sympathetic block is a procedure to interrupt the sympathetic output to the lower limbs. It is commonly indicated in sympathetic maintained pain, complex regional pain syndrome, and peripheral vascular disease. Both fluoroscopy and ultrasound imaging have been described for this procedure. The procedure can be performed for diagnostic, prognostic, and therapeutic indications.
