Neuropathic Pain: Phantom Limb Pain and Central Post-Stroke Pain

Abstract

Phantom limb pain and central post-stroke pain are chronic neuropathic pain syndromes that contribute to significant pain and disability. The pathophysiology of both syndromes is poorly understood and highly effective treatments are lacking. A multimodal approach to treatment is required to achieve optimal outcomes.
