Abstract

This chapter comprehensively considers mathematical models for absorption, scattering, link distance, directivity offset, turbulence, and noise that will provide the basis for modeling a simulated UWOC channel. It is of great importance for UWOC system performance evaluation. First, in the first part of this chapter, the absorption and scattering characteristics of the channel are introduced. Next, the fading model of the UWOC channel and the transceiver misalignment model are introduced in this chapter. Finally, the fourth and fifth parts of this chapter present the modeling of underwater turbulence and noise.
