Abstract

In the UWAC system, the information signal is usually a digital baseband signal. These signals often contain a rich low-frequency component and even direct current components. UWA channels are bandwidth-limited. Due to the influence of transmission loss on signal attenuation, the high-frequency band and low-frequency band are limited by environmental noise and transmitting transducers. A digital baseband signal cannot be transmitted directly in a channel with such bandpass transmission characteristics. It requires modulation techniques to shift the spectrum of its baseband signal to the appropriate frequency band for effective transmission. Therefore, modulation has a great impact on the effectiveness and reliability of the UWAC system. What modulation and demodulation are used will directly affect the performance of the communication system.
