Abstract
This chapter provides an overview of the ways in which lesbians, gay men, trans, and nonbinary (LGBT+) people are having children and creating families. Utilizing data collected from over four decades of social work practice in working with lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and nonbinary (LGBT+) people to examine their experiences of creating family through parenting. This chapter will also review the most recent scholarship on LGBT+ families.
