For a given natural number k we define k-gonal (polygonal or also figurate) numbers \(P_{k,n}\) as the sum of the first n members of the arithmetic progression \(((m-1)(k-2)+1)_{m=1}^\infty \) with initial member 1 and difference \(k-2\), i.e.
