Tools and Trends in Bioanalytical Chemistry

Abstract

Faster, effective, and accurate bioanalysis is the goal of many scientific researchers recently. In this approach, electroanalytical methods are the lynchpin that plays a very important role. Electrochemical analyzes can be obtained with high sensitivity and selectivity. Therefore, the design of modified electrodes can increase the interaction between the molecules of interest, to be determined, and the surface of the conductive electrodes. Accordingly, there is a gain in response and consequently in signal, leading to the determination of quantities in a faster, dynamic, and assured manner. This chapter will discuss the electrode surface modification with inorganic oxides and conducting polymers, concerning the potential application in bioanalysis procedures.
