Abstract
In order to foster responsible investment and sustainable development, countries should embed investment policy into the development strategy, define the role of public, private, domestic and foreign direct investment, harness investment for productive capacity building and enhance international competitiveness. When granting investment incentives, sustainability should be a key consideration.
