Abstract
Most African countries used various incentives to attract investments in SEZs with limited success. However, countries such as Zambia, Nigeria, Ethiopia and Mauritius, which partnered with China in the development of SEZs under the Forum on China–Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), witnessed significant progress in attracting investment, job creation and export growth.
