Abstract
The present chapter analyzes the rhetorical, stylistic, and rhythmic characteristics prevalent in the poetic creations of Watanabe. Given that the works of this Peruvian poet are immediately seen to be “realist”, a rhetorical analysis of the specific characteristics of this type of literature and their relationship with the poetry of Watanabe will be explored. The analysis will also include an exploration of the tone in Watanabe’s poetic expression and its contribution to the unique rhythm of his poetry. Emphasis on the interweaving of these stylistic-rhetorical, and rhythmic-metric constituents intends to shed light on the main aspects of the poetic cosmovision of Watanabe.
The text translated from original Spanish by José Antonio Pérez de Camino.
