Deglobalization in COVID-19 Times: New Routes for Global Business

Abstract

Deglobalization has different impacts and explanations, so in this chapter we analyse how the process is taking place as well as what is expected as an impact in the coming years, showing the benefits and disadvantages in the short and medium term. Some questions are answered as main concepts of globalization and deglobalization, the influence of COVID-19 in globalization of the economy and politics considering the big negatives impacts in health professionals, population and firms. Also, it is discussed if the globalization a disadvantage against COVID-19 in terms of efforts and health barriers, the characteristics of globalization and deglobalization in health systems and the role of deglobalization between countries. Also, some examples and statistical data are shown to better explain the proposal in the chapter. Finally, it is described the global evaluation for next years about the variation of deglobalization process and if globalization and deglobalization will exists in same time in next months and years.
