Abstract
When constructing electronic circuits, we need to deal with real component behavior. Even something as simple as a wire has parasitic resistance, capacitance, and inductance. Connecting a circuit to a power supply with long wires means that power and ground has a finite impedance (inductance). If the circuit suddenly draws current, then the parasitic inductance will induce noise on the power and ground voltages. Industry practices such as the use of bypass capacitors and proper circuit board layout are used to deal with these practical issues.
