Abstract

Diodes are used in rectifiers, which perform the important task of AC to DC conversion. There are other diode circuits that alter the shapes of AC waveforms and change its DC average. In addition, there are special diodes such as the Schottky diode and Zener diode which are used in numerous applications, such as voltage regulators.
