Abstract
During the research, the authors asked questions dealing with the selection of appropriate metrics of innovation performance of companies in the industries evaluated. Chapter 10 presents an evaluation of innovation activities in all nine industries examined in which there are natural or institutionalised clusters. Microdata from the harmonised survey on innovations called ‘TI’, carried out by the Czech Statistical Office for the years 2014 to 2016, were used as a source of data. It was found that the largest proportion of innovative companies can be found in the nanotechnology, engineering, and IT industry in which, at the same time, no significant impact of clusters on technological progress has been confirmed. The low activity of process innovations is then related to a decrease in internal technical efficiency, as identified in the textile and furniture industry. The opposite dependence was found in the automotive, engineering, and packaging industries. From the point of view of partnerships in the implementation of innovations, universities play a significant role.
