Abstract

This paper showcases a study regarding the growing relevance that the printed book acquires in an editorial practice, in a predominantly digital world. In spite of the undeniable hegemony of the digital, there is now a multiplication of revitalisation phenomena with regard to the exploratory potential of the printed book. The aim of this paper is to demonstrate how the book has reacted to the appearance of new media, especially digital ones. In a second phase, we analysed the conditions in which a remarkable process of rehabilitation and enhancement of the book has been favoured, in aesthetic and conceptual terms. The strategies for converting the book into an object of artistic and editorial experimentation are also identified.
