Abstract
The deep fibers of the triangular fibrocartilage complex (TFCC), which consist of the volar and dorsal radioulnar ligaments, are crucial for maintaining stability of the distal radioulnar joint (DRUJ). Avulsion of the volar and dorsal radioulnar ligaments (RUL) from their foveal insertions must thus be diagnosed and treated correctly. This chapter presents an arthroscopic technique for TFCC foveal repair (arthroscopic ligament-specific transosseous repair), in which each of the dorsal and volar RUL is repaired to their separate insertion over the fovea. This “ligament-specific” repair technique allows the restoration of the normal anatomy and physiology of the TFCC.
