Abstract
In recent history, several fires brought attention to the fire safety risks associated with very tall buildings. This focus has increased recently with several incidents around the world involving facade fires. This chapter summarizes 16 historic very tall building fire incidents that have occurred throughout the world. It also describes the lessons learned from these incidents and how modern building codes addressed these lessons learned.
