Abstract
Mixing and circulation of water in the Antarctic Sound was studied on the basis of in situ data and satellite observations. Cyclonic circulation was detected, and an intense mixing zone of waters from the Weddell Sea and Bransfield Strait was distinguished. Water inflow from the Weddell Sea to the Antarctic Sound occurs less frequently than the flow from the Bransfield Strait. The main flow of water is directed to the south.
