Abstract

Middle East countries are the front line sufferers in case of climate change. The Middle East has generally winter and summer weather with little rainfall. Due to climate change; lakes are running dry, the temperature hits higher level in the gulf, sandstorms occur in the cities, cyclones are waving in islands. Resulting, power generation through conventional resources faces high risk due to extreme climate change. Therefore, the use of renewable resources for power generation is one of the best ways to mitigate global warming. Renewable resources like stored water, solar, wind, biomass, etc. can easily solve the power generation problem, as conventional resources like coal, diesel, etc. will completely extinct after some years due to climate change. So, we should maintain our aim to use renewable resources in the case of power generation. Since the individual renewable resource is unable to generate a stable amount of power, the hybridization is used for maintaining continue power generation. Thus, this book chapter clarifies the cause of climate change in the Middle East, the impact of climate change, the effect of conventional and renewable sources on power generation. Mainly, this book chapter examines pollution-free hybrid system in the Middle East through model simulation and case study analysis.
