Abstract

Could it be, that when we think that we are using political concepts, the main accent could still, in some cases and/or situations, be cultural—or even aesthetic? This article outlines a reading of political discourse that invites us to think of the hidden cultural/aesthetic meaning of it. When one says’green’ or’leftist’, how often is one’s focus on the practical agenda of politics—and how often is one thinking about the cultural tribe working on it? The political might also, in some cases, be just an instrument for an aesthetic agenda. And aesthetics might color political concepts in various ways.
