Abstract
Old St Paul’s and Culture is an interdisciplinary collection of essays that looks predominantly at the culture of Old St Paul’s and its wider precinct in the early modern period, while also providing important insights into the Cathedral’s medieval institution. The introduction to the volume establishes how the cultural history of London finds articulation through an examination of Old St Paul’s and its daily practices, and situates the study within its critical field. It provides an overview of the volume’s scope and objectives, and gives chapter summaries to show how the four parts of the book relate to one another.
