Abstract
This article examines the advantages of an IoT-based manufacturing process on the basis of digital solutions provided by GF Machining Solutions. The proposed improvements include 5G infrastructure, which enables process optimizations, targeted communication and greatly improved efficiency in R&D. By implementing a Digital HUB into the process chain of manufacturing assets, the processes are being monitored, analysed and evaluated. A key proposal for this optimization includes an automated Digital Twin for all formerly CNC-based processes, which allows thorough process monitoring and fast adaptations if required.
