Abstract
Natural haline convection of underground water containing dissolved admixture in soil is considered. Liquid water transits to gas and evaporates from the surface of the Earth whereas a dissolved admixture remains in brine. A denser layer is formed leading to gravity-driven convection to develop. Convective flows and mass transfer are investigated by means of numerical simulation. Regimes with salt precipitation near the front of phase transition are analysed.
