Abstract
This chapter details the importance of nutrition in the NeuroICU. When to start tube feeding, what the goals of nutrition should be, and a comprehensive review of the most commonly used tube feeds are provided. This chapter also reviews how the tube feeds should be adjusted for patients on phenytoin, propofol, or other medications that require special nutritional adjustments.
