Abstract

We explored the difference in lying behavior between the left-behind children (LBC) and the children from nonmmigrant families (CNF) in field experimental studies in rural China. We found that LBC and CNF significantly lied to a similar extent in baseline treatment, whereas after an explicit honesty reminder, CNF and left-behind boys became honest, but left-behind girls still lied.
