Abstract

Ultrasonography has long been considered a valuable method of imaging which offers several distinct advantages over other modalities. This chapter will serve as an introduction to diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound imaging. Discussion will concentrate on musculoskeletal ultrasound imaging of tendons, ligaments, muscles, cartilages, and bones with focus of normal appearances and different pathological states.
