Abstract
The relations discussed in the previous chapter apply to arbitrary problems of elasticity. However, the practical implementation shows that finding a closed-form solution for problems in the framework of a three-dimensional stress and strain analysis for elastic and anisotropic material behavior is only possible in a few special cases. In most cases, engineers are thus confronted with the task of making simplifying assumptions for given problems and simplifying a lightweight engineering problem to an extent that accordingly simplified analysis methods can be employed.
