Abstract

Mice have many glands located subcutaneously. The larger ones include the parotid, submandibular, hibernation, and extraorbital lacrimal gland. Injection in these glands may be done under direct visualization after a skin incision. It may also be performed transcutaneously. In this section, we use the parotid gland as an example to discuss subcutaneous glandular injection techniques.
