Abstract
This chapter presents a comparison between the pragmatic definition of measurement and other theories and perspectives on measurement. The role of the pragmatic definition of measurement as a tool is aimed at gauging measurement claims in terms of their usefulness in the face of the diversity of practices that are conducted under the banner of “measurement.”
