Abstract
This chapter is the heart of the theoretical part of this monograph and contains indispensable results for the numerical analysis performed in Part III. We discuss the weak-strong uniqueness principle for the class of dissipative solutions and establish the relevant results for the Euler and the Navier–Stokes system using the relative energy inequality.
