Abstract
This chapter is dedicated to viscous laminar flows. The first part treats the steady viscous flow through curved channels. Viscous flows through curved channels with positive and negative pressure gradients are treated. Conservation laws are formulated in curvilinear coordinate systems. The resulting Navier-Stokes equation are solved. To determine the temperature distributions within the above channels, energy equation was called upon. Combining this equation with Navier-Stokes equation delivered the solution for two-dimensional flow field along with the temperature distribution. Steady parallel flows such as Couette flow between two parallel walls and two concentric cylinders and hagen-poiseuille flow concludes the steady flow cases. The unsteady laminar flow treats the viscous flow near an oscillating flat plate. The influence of viscosity on vortex decay concludes the chapter.
