Abstract

VTE is a common clinical complication in majority of cancer patients, especially in lung, Pancreas, Colon, Kidney and Prostate cancer due to underlying hypercoagulable state.

This chapter outlines different common clinical scenarios in cancer patients, like as multiple myeloma, brain tumor patients and catheter induced Deep vein thrombosis (DVT). Treatment of VTE is challenging in this patient population due to higher than normal risk of bleeding in cancer patients ranging from 6.5 to 18%.
