Abstract
Scientific knowledge about the causes, consequences, and effective actions against child labor is necessary but not sufficient for the prevention of the problem. The implementation of programs depends on the capacities of the facilitators, on the quality and intensity of the activities developed and on the reaction of the community contexts on which they act. In this chapter, we examine how to improve implementation through science-practice transfer, organizational support and service delivery. After presenting an integrated model for bridging the gap between science and practice, we compile a series of concrete recommendations with which to improve both the implementation of behavioral-based preventive interventions and legal regulations to prevent the worst forms of child labor.
